The Centre for Socail Studies (CSS) is located at a distance of around 10 Kms. from the Surat railway station. You can hire an auto-rickshaw from the railway station on a mutually agreed amount between Rs. 100 to 120 to reach the Centre. Ask the driver to take you to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Campus, Udhna-Magdalla Road. There are two routes to reach CSS. The first route is via Ring Road → Majura Gate → Bhatar Char Rasta → CSS. From Bhatar Char Rasta, the Centre is located at a distance of approximately 2.5 Kms. A board showing Centre’s location is on the left side of the road. The second route is via Chowk → Athwa Gate → Parle Point → City Light → CSS.

The Airport at Surat is located at a distance of about 9 Kms. from the Centre. No pre-paid taxi facility is available inside the Airport. However, one can call AMU CABS (0261-4000005) or SURAT TAXI (0261-3220000) in advance, which would charge you around Rs.200 to reach the CSS. Otherwise, just move up to the main gate and you will find auto-rickshaws there. Just tell the rickshaw driver to take you to the Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Campus. After crossing the first two gates (the main gate and the auditorium gate), the third gate is Centre’s entry point on your right. The auto-rickshaw will charge you around 150 rupees.
