Bio Sketch
Professor Das has written on issues related to regional and urban planning, city slums, urban poverty, NGOs, rehabilitation of displaced people and micro-finance. He has been the faculty of the Centre for Social Studies, Surat for around two and half decades and has also served as its Director during 2004-2008. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Queen Elizabeth House, International Development Centre, University of Oxford, UK during 1997. Author of Nine books, twenty two research monographs, scores of articles and reviews in academic journals and edited volumes, currently, he is working on some aspects associated with rural poor women and micro finance.
